YOU WHO!

(image snatched from Rebecca Gates’ twitter.  Stage set and owly costumes by Seann.)

Last Saturday was the debut of You Who, a monthly Portland kid’s rock and variety show organized by Seann McKeel and Chris Funk (two of my favorite people) and hosted by the Kennedy School.  The format is basically a half hour of variety (cartoons, music, shadow puppetry, trippy stand-up comedy, dancing human-sized owls) followed by a half hour rock show (last week the Decemberists played.  Next month:  Quasi).  It was super fun.  I couldn’t plug it enough.

The doors open an hour before the show starts and this past week, pre-show, there was a coloring table, DJ, snacks and drinks for sale (including beer), above-mentioned owls milling around and yours truly painting faces.

(Sadly, I don’t think anyone got it.)
