Thursday, November 5th at The Portland Art Museum
I’ll be giving an informal talk about “Homesteaders”, a painting by Oregon artist Arthur Runquist, as part of the museum’s Artist Talk series. “Homesteaders” is a classic example of WPA sponsored painting and really nice. I can’t share it here because of copyright reasons – you’ll have to come see it in person – but here’s a photo of Runquist’s colleague, Martina Gangle, assisting on a mural he painted with his brother, Albert, in 1941.
The talk begins at 6:00 and is free with museum admission. Happy hour drinks and snacks are included. More information here.
